Average Revenue Per User Metric (ARPU)

written by Creston

The Average Revenue Per User Metric (ARPU) is pretty self explanatory.  It is the average of the revenue received for each user.  Typically, this is calculated per day.  So another acronym you will see is ARPDAU which means Average Revenue Per Daily Active User (DAU).  The formula is total revenue divided by DAU.  You could also calculate ARPMAU which is total revenue divided by Monthly Active Users or MAU.

Right now, GAMEhud calculates ARPU per day (or ARPDAU).  In the future, we will be adding a monthly calculation as well.  This metric lets you see how well you are monetizing your entire player base over time and see how changes to the game or your online shop affect your revenue.  Next week, we will see how Average Revenue Per User compares to Average Revenue Per Paying User.
